YMCA of the Upper Pee Dee Metro Office
The Metro Branch is the business & operations office for the YMCA of the Upper Pee Dee. Located in the Hartsville Family YMCA building, it was formed in 2004 as a management tool to oversee the operation of multiple branches. It allows the branches to share resources that would be costly to maintain individually.

South Carolina Reciprocal Membership Program
My Y is Now Every Y in South Carolina
The Y movement is for youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility.
We want to encourage members to utilize the Y as often as they can. Sometimes, it’s more convenient for members to utilize a Y in a different location when traveling, near a workplace, or in another region.
Now, Metro/Hartsville members have the flexibility to use other Y facilities throughout the state, at no extra charge.
HOW IT WORKS
Simply present your active YMCA membership card and photo ID at any participating YMCA and enjoy free access.
RECIPROCAL MEMBERSHIP DETAILS
- The Reciprocal Membership Program is valid for Metro/Hartsville members only.
- Visitors to other Y’s must present a valid YMCA membership card and photo ID upon their first visit and complete a visiting member waiver or standard membership application form with liability waiver.
- Metro/Hartsville members must use their home branch at least 50% of the time. Program discounts do not apply. Participating YMCAs reserve the right to restrict facility or program access.
*Hartsville or Metro members only will receive reciprocity. Because Darlington and Chesterfield rates are discounted, their members will not receive reciprocity. Darlington and Chesterfield members may upgrade to a Metro membership in order to receive reciprocity. This means a Darlington or Chesterfield member must pay a guest pass fee to use one of the other Ys in SC, but a Hartsville or Metro member does not have to pay guest pass fees to use any Y in SC. A Hartsville member will need to be checked in at our branches through the Reciprocity Check-in, but the Metro member will still be able to scan their card at all branches for entry.

Food + Fun = Healthy Summer for Kids
When the final school bells ring and summer break begins, millions of kids are at risk of going hungry. According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture, more than 30 million children receive free or reduced-cost meals through the National School Lunch Program, but only 2.3 million of these kids continue to receive meals through the USDA’s Summer Food Service Program.
As part of our commitment to keeping kids healthy, the Y and Walmart Foundation are partnering to provide 4 million meals and snacks to 100,000 kids and teens this summer. Youth between ages 5-18 can participate in the program to get their “fill of food and fun” – receiving nutritious meals and snacks, while also enjoying recreational and learning activities to keep their bodies and minds active.
